Now even though you can't include links inside the body of the article (unless it does not benefit you in anyway), you can however write a 3-4 sentence explanation which is called your "resource box" and usually (depending on the directory) you can place 3 self serving links.
A smart thing to do is to create a free report with a link to an opt-in page so that you can capture email addresses so you can build a list for that specific niche.

2. Find Article Directories to submit your article to (there are hundreds) Here are a couple of the best directories

Check this out, not only is your article going to appear on these article directories, but other site owners will go to these sites for content to add to their own sites. Which they are allowed to do so only if they include your "resource box" (which is a 3 to 4 sentence explanation about your site with up to 3 links to your site)
To find more "article directories" just do a search on Google for "Submit Article"
3. Next, do a search on Google for "keyword newsletter" and "keyword ezine" but replace keyword with your specific keyword ie. if you are writing an article about cars do a search for "car newsletter"
Then you will want find out the email address of that newsletters adminastrator, send him a copy of your article and see if he would like to use it on his newsletter. Most likely he will, due to the fact that site owners are always looking for new content to add to their site without having to write it themselves
There are so many benefits to doing this but one of the bonuses of writing and submitting your articles to "Article Directories" is that not only will your article be spread through hundreds of websites on the internet but so will your links.
And the more link building you do with links you have pointing back to your site the higher your website (that the links are pointing to) will rank in the search engines.
This can be done in as little as 30 minutes and you can write 5 to 10 a week for all of your niches getting great exposure, traffic from the directories, traffic from the sites that are using your article and links all over the internet pointing back to 3 of your sites (if you only have one site create a blog or send them to affiliate products).
